What is AVID?
Advancement Via Individual Determination

AVID provides support that students need to close the achievement gap and encourage college/career readiness skills that will lead to success. AVID teaches and reinforces academic behaviors and higher level thinking skills. Students learn about organization, study skills, communication, and self-advocacy. AVID Elementary students take structured notes and answer and ask high-level questions that go beyond routine answers.

All of our  K-5 classrooms implement AVID strategies. Students begin learning how to organize their materials and set goals Kindergarten classrooms!
